How to bulk edit a LeaseUp survey

Bulk edit makes it exponentially faster to get a birds-eye view of all building/space data in a LeaseUp survey and make quick edits

Updated over a month ago

From a survey, go to the top right survey navigation area and click the pencil icon. This will open the bulk edit screen, where you can edit building data across an entire survey.

Quickly add, edit, and remove survey data

The bulk edit feature is a spreadsheet view containing all of the building and space info in a survey, viewed in separate Buildings and Spaces tabs. Each row corresponds to a building or space in the survey, and each column corresponds to a building or space field.

Click into any cell to edit, add, or remove data. Changes will automatically save as they are made.

Note: You can also add a building field or space field from a building page.

Add, edit, and remove buildings and building fields

With the Buildings tab open in bulk edit, click the ‘Add Building’ button to quickly add a new building to the survey. Type the building address. If you’ve previously used this building in LeaseUp, click the address with the building icon next to it to re-use existing building and space data.

Click the ‘Add Field’ button to add a new building field. Click into any custom field column to change a field name, data type (e.g. plain text vs address, currency, or date), or to delete that field.

Click the Field Order icon next to ‘Add Building’ to drag and drop custom fields to the desired order.

Note: There are three required building fields that can’t be deleted: Address, Building Name, and Amenities.

Add, edit, and remove spaces and space fields

Click the Spaces tab to bulk edit space data in a survey. Each building in the survey has a row, with a link to add a space at the bottom of each table. You can also click the ‘Add Field’ button to add a new space field to the survey. New space fields are added as a column on the right end of the table.

Click into any custom field column to change a field name, data type (e.g. plain text vs address, currency, or date), or to delete that space field. Click the Field Order icon next to ‘Add Field’ to drag and drop custom space fields to the desired order.

Note: There are two required space fields that can’t be deleted: Space Name and Space Notes.

Exit bulk edit

Click the survey name at the top of the page to exit bulk edit and return to the survey view.
